Shah Rukh Khan's Security Cut Down

Shah Rukh Khan's Security Cut Down by Mumbai Police. Mumbai Police has withdrawn and cut down security cover of several Bollywood celebrities and politicians including Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan after reviewing threat perception to them.

In a meeting held in May, state DGP D Sivanandan (the then Mumbai Police Commissioner) reviewed threat perception to 78 people including politicians and celebrities following which he ordered withdrawal of security of 54 people while downsized the cover for the rest, said sources in the Protection and Security Department.

Among those whose security has been withdrawn include filmmaker Karan Johar, Vivek Oberoi, Firoz Nadiadwala, Himesh Reshammiya, Pritish Nandy, suspended IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi''s son Ruchir and daughter Aliya, Balasaheb Thackeray''s PA Ravindra Mhatre and Rahul Mahajan, sources added. Security cover of actor Shah Rukh, Modi''s wife Minal, former home minister Jayant Patil''s family, lawyer Majid Memon, politicians Nawab Malik and Suresh Prabhu has been cut down.

Now, these people would get only two cops for their protection duty instead of four, they said. "With this, about Rs 40 lakh burden on exchequer would be saved," an official said adding over the period of one month, we have been slowly withdrawing and cutting down the security of these people.
