Britney Spears immortalised in comic book

Pop superstar Britney Spears is set to be immortalised in a comic book. Contactmusic.com reports that the "Toxic" hitmaker's rise to stardom and highly publicised private life has been turned into a series of illustrations by Bluewater Productions Inc.

Other stars who have been given the comic book treatment by the firm include troubled actress Lindsay Lohan, Twilight stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart and pop star Lady Gaga.

"She is far more complicated than most people realise. No matter what preconceptions you have about her, there will always be more layers and surprises. Beyond the performer, there is a real human being there, struggling for a real life, struggling to connect with her art, and struggling to be understood," said writer Patrick McCray.

Bluewater publisher Darren G. Davis noted that the Spears' complex life reflects what the core of the "Fame" series tries to achieve.

"She was created in the Internet Age to be put on a pedestal, but no one can stand the glaring lights of celebrity that intensely," he said. "The title seeks to find the person within."

A sneak peek at the 32-page issue can be found on MTV's website, and you can buy it for $3.99 at online venues like Amazon.com or in comic book stores.
