Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way’ banned in Lebanon

Lady Gaga’s latest album, ‘Born This Way,’ has reportedly been banned in Lebanon due to the decision that it is “offensive to Christianity.” Entertainment Weekly reported Monday.

The ban was announced by the country's General Secretary Department which said in a statement that the album, which features a controversial, religious-themed track entitled "Judas," was in "bad taste."

Thousands of copies were reportedly sent to the Middle East, but Lebanese authorities allegedly quickly impounded them, states NME. The decision was reportedly made “on grounds of bad taste” in regard to the album.

Lebanon previously banned the animated film "Waltz With Bashir" in 2009 for its portrayal of Christian militia groups, and another animated film, 2007's "Persepolis," for its negative portrayal of the 1979 Iranian Revolution.

Gaga also had problems with “Born This Way” playing in Malaysia due to references of homosexuality.
