Actress Amanda Bynes was arrested on Friday morning on suspicion of drunk driving after hitting a cop car in West Hollywood. The 26-year-old actress was taken into custody around 3 am on Friday. She has since been released on bail. The former child star of the Nickelodeon shows All That and The Amanda Show announced her retirement from acting in 2010 at age 24, saying that she no longer enjoyed it.
According to the police report from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s office, Amanda Bynes, driving a black BMW, was attempting to pass a cop car stopped at intersection when she hit the vehicle on the right, rear side.
“A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy in a marked black and white radio car, was stopped at the intersection of … Robertson Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard preparing to turn right onto Santa Monica Boulevard when a black BMW driven by actress Amanda Bynes attempted to pass the right of the radio car, colliding with the right rear quarter panel of the radio car,” the police report stated. “There was minor paint transfer damage to both vehicles.”
Amanda Bynes was arrested following the accident on suspicion of drunk driving and taken to a local police station. She was later released on $5,000 bail at around 10:30 am. In her police mug shot, Amanda Bynes has dyed her blond locks a flat shade of pale pink and is wearing heavy, black eyeliner. She looks rough and her eyes seem to be glazed over and out of focus.
This is not Bynes’ first run in with police recently. The What I Like About You actress was also stopped by police in Los Angeles earlier this year for talking on her cell phone while driving. In a totally brilliant move, she hit the gas and bolted from the scene while the officer involved was writing up her ticket. The cop decided not to chase her down since he already had her information and she eventually showed up to retrieve her ticket later. Bynes was also captured on video by TMZ.com on St. Patrick’s Day getting into her car while allegedly appearing extremely intoxicated, but drove away without incident.
