Lady Gaga has given her new pal Lindsay Lohan a big boost of confidence after praising the actress' portrayal of Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor in her critically-panned TV movie "Liz & Dick."
The "Poker Face" hitmaker struck up a friendship with Lohan earlier this year after the two stars partied together in Los Angeles' Chateau Marmont, and she made sure to check out the actress' film comeback in the Lifetime drama when it premiered in the U.S. on Sunday.
Lohan's performance in the biopic, which chronicled Taylor's tumultuous relationship with Richard Burton, has been largely savaged by critics, but Gaga has nothing but good things to say about the film, and she has reached out to the Mean Girls star, encouraging her not to listen to her detractors.
In a Twitter post on Monday, the singer writes, "@lindsaylohan you did a beautiful job on Liz & Dick, Let no one bring u down, Liz didnt (sic), they always try to knock the greats down a few pegs."
Replying to the kind words, Lohan responded, "@ladygaga thank you so much! You are such an incredible force and that means the world to me love & hugs hope to see you soon bella."
