Saif Ali Khan chargesheeted in Taj assault case

Ten months after Saif Ali Khan allegedly assaulted a South-Africa based businessman Iqbal Mir Sharma and his father-in-law at a luxury hotel in Colaba, the Mumbai Police has filed a charge sheet against the Bollywood actor and his two associates in the case.

"Colaba police station filed the charge sheet against Saif Ali Khan in a metropolitan magistrate court on Thursday," Zonal DCP Ravindra Shishwe told PTI today.

Saif Ali Khan alone is a happy married man today, but his Taj incident has pushed the Chhote Nawaab into legal trouble again. According to the reports, Mumbai police have chargesheeted Saif Ali Khan and two others in Taj fight case on December 20.

A leading daily reported that the chargesheet has been filed under section 325 (assault) and section 34 (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code. Early this year, before the release of his movie Agent Vinod, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, who were having dinner at Mumbai's Taj, allegedly assaulted an NRI Iqbal Sharma, a businessman, who suffered a fractured nose.

It was reported that Saif was under the influence of alcohol. The incident led to extreme buzz and criticisms across the nation. Khan was arrested under article 325 of the Indian Penal Code, and released on bail on a surety of INR3,000 (US$54.6) by the Mumbai Police.
