Clash between Salman and Govinda

All's not well between Salman Khan and Govinda. Chi Chi was not part of the Dabangg success party, while other Khan dosts Aamir Khan, Sajid Nadiadwala, Farah Khan, David Dhawan and Subhash Ghai were.

An insider informs, "Things soured between them after the awards function in Sri Lanka ended. Govinda had stuck his neck out and gone to Colombo on Salman's invitation, risking the ban on his film Raavan, and inviting the wrath of the film's cast and crew."

It is learnt that Govinda had been feeling let down by Salman for not giving his daughter Narmada a break in films. Khan has been promoting Sonakshi Sinha, and even suggesting her name to his other producers (Sajid Nadiadwala has signed her) and director ( Shirish Kunder's next) friends.

Meanwhile, Chi Chi's daughter's career still hasn't taken off. Incidentally, Khan had promised to launch her two years ago. Govinda is grateful to Sallu for giving him a comeback film -- Partner -- but  now he feels he has paid his dues. So when Khan offered him his next production -- the remake of Mahesh Manjrekar's Shikshanacha Aaicha Gho -- Govinda refused the film, saying he wasn't happy with his role.

This snub didn't go down well with the unforgiving Khan, who decided to leave him out of the Dabangg guestlist comprising his closest friends.

Chi Chi confirms, "I wasn't invited to the Dabangg party." He tries to shrug off the speculation, adding he wasn't disappointed at being left out,  "It was a Dabangg party so why should I be invited?" When told about the presence of Aamir and Ghai, he says, "They must have been part of the promotions. Why should I go for that? I will come for Partner 2 party."

When told about the speculation that he is no longer part of the sequel, he says, "David has told me that he's finalising the script. When that's ready, I will do it. Friendship and work should be kept separately. Jo kho gaya hai woh rishte se talukat nahi rakhna chahiye."  He also  admits that he was approached for Mahesh Manjrekar's film produced by Being Human, but he refused as he didn't like the script.

The original bone of contention Narmada says, "I am working in a film right now so I have no clue about what's happening as regards to the film with Salman or between him and dad. I am not upset with Sonakshi. We've known each other since childhood and used to meet at birthday parties. The last time I met her was three years ago at Salman's farmhouse in Panvel. I was never close to Salman but dad was. Rumours of dad and Salman having a rift started during IIFA when Salman walked the ramp with Sonakshi and not me. Rumours bada ho gaya and created a problem. But yeh sab hota rehta hai. Why would Salman launch me in a film? My dad can do that if necessary. He doesn't need to ask anyone else."
