Aamir replies to doctors' demand for an apology

When Aamir Khan dedicated an episode to medical malpractice, doctors around the country did not think the actor did them any favours.

In fact, an umbrella body of 21 medical institutions, including the Indian Medical Association, asked Aamir to apologise for accusing doctors of malpractices.

They even threatened that if Aamir didn't apologise, they would ask people to boycott his movies.

But then boycotting of his movies was nothing new to Aamir; he had faced that quite a few times already.

And, no, Aamir did not come out with an official apology.

What he did do instead was include a small segment at the beginning of Satyamev Jayate's latest episode, where he reiterated the fact that he planned to handle sensitive issues on the show.

He stated that he did not intend to demonise anyone, and that he would merely lay out for the audience the various social ills plaguing us. Then it was up to them and their judgement what they made of what was presented.

In a nutshell, he asked the doctors to use their common sense before they demand public apologies.
