The teaser of the film shows proxy war between Indian Intelligence agency RAW and Pakistan spy agency ISI. In ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, Salman Khan plays a RAW agent and he is send on a secret mission to keep an eye on a college professor suspected of trying to sell dangerous missile technology to terrorists in Pakistan.
Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority, country's media regulatory watchdog sent a letter to all satellite TV channels and cable networks last week saying ‘Ek Tha Tiger’“is reportedly based on the activities of ISI and RAW".
"Besides, basic theme of the story revolves around Inter- Services Intelligence (ISI) agency with the objective to tarnish the image of state owned institution," the letter said.
“The matter should be given utmost preference and due care be ensured to uphold the country's image and any unintentional lapse in this regard be avoided,” the letter added.
In other words, the media watchdog has directed the channels and all the cable networks to "desist from airing promos" of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ till a no-objection certificate is issued by the Pakistani censor board.
'Ek Tha Tiger', directed by Kabir Khan of 'New York' and Kabul Express' fame slated for August 15 release. The film stars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in the leading role
