Deepika loses bet, pays 10 lakh rupees to producer

 During the shooting of the song ‘Daaru Desi’ form the film ‘Cocktail’, Deepika Padukone who played the character Veronica had a bet with the film producer Dinesh Vijan about the popularity of the particular song.

Deepika did not like the song ‘Daaru Desi’ picturized on Diana Penty, Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone and she had a bet with Dinesh about the faith of the song.

She challenged Dinesh that the song won’t be a chartbuster but Dinesh Vijan claimed that it will hit the chartbuster. Dinu was sure that the song will be a hit and he asked Deepika to place a bet of 10 lakhs.

Deepika agreed, the film released and the song hit the chartbuster. From that day, Dinu has been following Deepika for the betting money that she has lost. At first, the actress thought that Dinesh was just joking but on looking at his desperation, she had to give him the betting amount.

She gave the money to Dinesh four days ago. A source said, "10 lakhs is no big amount for Deepika. She gained a lot more from Cocktail so it was indeed a small price to pay.''
