While Jessica Simpson is busy losing her post-pregnancy pounds with the help of her Weight Watchers deal, her father pop star dad had been busy drinking and driving. Unfortunately for Grandpa Joe, he was busted on Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks on August 4 during one of his joy rides.
According to TMZ,“We’re told LAPD cops pulled Joe‘s car over around 10 PM … and during the stop, officers got the feeling he was intoxicated and ultimately cuffed the famous pop and took him to the pokey.”
According to the site, Joe was then booked overnight in jail and was released without having to post bail the next day at 9:41am.
Fortunately for him, it was his first offense so he’ll probably just end up having Jessica pay a hefty fine if his case was ever sent to prosecutors in the L.A. City Attorney’s Office and gets criminally charged for the DUI.
