Bipasha Reveals Why She Agreed To Kiss Emraan

 Bipasha Basu is known for her ultra glamorous and sexy image. However one doesn't usually find her indulging in any lip-locks. After rejecting the 'proposal' in number of other recent films of hers, she decided to just let go of her self-imposed rule in Raaz 3. Reason behind that was not any convincing by the Bhatts but the fact that she feared audience backlash, considering the fact her co-star was Emraan Hashmi.


"There was no way she could have avoided kissing in the film. Emraan's loyal audience expects him to kiss in each of his films. Period. He was anyways going ahead with Esha Gupta. However if he would have missed out getting intimate with Emraan, there would have been an audience backlash", informs our well placed source connected to the film.

For Bipasha too it was a major decision to make. After all, in the past she has been known to approach her directors and ask them to drop any kissing sequences.

"One of the most known episodes is the one which took place during the making of Bachna Ae Haseeno. Director Siddharth Anand wanted her and Ranbir Kapoor to lip-lock but Bipasha wasn't convinced. In fact she argued with him for over a month to drop the scene. Later the same story was repeated for Dum Maaro Dum as well. Even though the film starred Rana Daggubati who was good friends with Bipasha, kissing was out of question for her. She put her foot down and Rohan Sippy had to comply", an insider reveals.

She did make a slight exception for Jodi Breakers but her kiss with R. Madhavan was a mere peck. However when it came to Raaz 3, there was no question whatsoever of any such inhibitions.

When contacted, Bipasha took it rather lightly while confirming her inhibition around on-screen kissing. She said, "I was in fact laughing with Emraan the other day that due to his image, there was no scope of any discussion whatsoever around a kiss being dropped. If I would have done that, I am sure audience would have hit me. Sometimes you have to just play along with audience expectations. If they want a kiss between me and Emraan, they will get it. I don’t want any backlash."
