The shooting of Akshay Kumar's first international project BREAK AWAY started this week under the banner of Hari Om Entertainment.
And to make the film, a cross cultural drama set in India and Canada, a totally comedy project, Kumar has signed Hollywood comedian Russell Peters to star in the film.
Peters is a Canadian stand-up comic and actor born in Toronto is of Anglo-Indian descent.
Kumar's dream project, being made in collaboration with the Canadian government and First Take Entertainment, Polytechnique RP and Whizbang Films, will have actors are from Canada and the majority of the shooting will be done in that country.
It may be noted that Emily Van Camp was considered to play the leading lady, but has now been replaced by Camilla Belle.
The film, directed by Robert Liberman has Canadian born Vinay Virmani in the lead.
