It was late last year when the release plans of TEES MAAR KHAN were announced. This Akshay Kumar starrer was all set for a big release this Christmas and trade, industry as well as audience were well aware about the developments.
While most films, big or small, steered clear of 24th December (the day when the film is slated to release) and maintained clear distance, there was an unlikely contender in the form of YAMLA PAGLA DEEWANA. This all-Deol starrer has also decided to come on the same day, something that has sent shock waves in the industry.
"This is really bizarre", says a top film maker on condition of anonymity, "It was a known fact that makers of TEES MAAR KHAN had announced its release date as 24th December well in advance. Of course no film maker has any birth right on a date but others should also think twice before coming up with sudden plans. If two biggies clash, it is not going to be beneficial for any of them."
However, Deols pretty much seem to have made up their minds. This fun filled entertainer starring Dhamendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol (once again after APNE) has not just announced 24th December as the D-day but also unveiled a series of posters where Christmas arrival is written in bold letters. No wonder, it seems to be a battle round the corner.
