Russell Brand asked to take Hindu wedding seriously.

Russell Brand has been told to take his Hindu wedding vows with singer Katy Perry in India seriously. The pair got engaged on New Year’s Eve last year during their trip to India.

The couple will reportedly marry in a Hindu ceremony at at the Taj Rambagh Palace resort in Jaipur, India in a week-long ceremony Oct 23 onwards and a Hindu religious leader says the event will be closely watched to ensure the pair observe the seriousness of the sacred ceremony.

‘Hindus have suggested they should take marriage seriously and perform the ceremony with proper Hindu rituals and traditions,’ contactmusic.com quoted US-based Hindu leader Rajan Zed as saying.

‘Hindus are always battling stars and film studios when it comes to the way our faith is portrayed outside of Hinduism – here is a really good opportunity for Russell Brand, who has shown great interest in the religion to show the world just how sacred and beautiful the Hindu marriage ceremony is. We wish them great blessings,’ he added.

Meanwhile, Brand wants to steer clear of a pre-nuptial agreement when he marries Perry because he fears the very idea will wreck the big day.
