Twilight stars Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart have been evacuated from the Vancouver Island resort town of Tofino due to a Tsunami tidal wave threatening to flood coastal beaches
After the 8.9-magnitude earthquake hit Japan, a number of areas on the West Coast have been evacuated due to a tsunami warning, which now has Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner getting to safer grounds.
The two ‘Twilight’ stars and the cast filming along with them reportedly had to leave the Vancouver Island beach area in British Columbia for safety reasons, states People. Stewart and Lautner are not expected to be in danger, but the evacuation was done for safety precautions.
According to Contact Music, “The devastating earthquake and subsequent tsunami that hit Japan has resulted in a number of resorts such as Tofino and the islands of French Polynesia having to be evacuated. So far, a “mild tsunami” has raised waters several feet in the Queen Charlotte Islands north of Vancouver Island, but no real effects of the disastrous earthquake have been noticed.”
