Court issues warrant against Sanjay Dutt

A bailable warrant was issued on the name of actor Sanjay Dutt on Tuesday by a local court, after the actor failed to turn up for a case hearing, in which he’s alleged to have made derogatory remarks against the Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati.

The additional chief judicial magistrate Arvind Mishra issued a bailable warrant of Rs 10,000, and has also fixed December 8 as the next date of next hearing.

While campaigning for the Samajwadi Party on April 19, 2009, Sanjay Dutt had purportedly made derogatory remarks against Mayawati. An FIR was then registered against the actor at Tiakaitnagar police station.
